Climate

The climate in Watson Lake, as elsewhere in the Yukon, can vary considerably. Information on weather conditions over the 1971 to 2000 period showed the average daytime temperature in January reached about minus 19 degrees Celsius, dropping to minus 29 degrees C overnight. In July the daytime temperature averaged just over 21 degrees C, with overnight temperatures moving down to about 9 degrees Celsius. Annual precipitation over the 30-year period totalled 404 millimetres, including 255 mm of rain and 196.5 centimetres of snow.
