Population

Pelly Crossing’s population is currently 336 (2013), approximately 85% of which are Northern Tuchone and members of Selkirk First Nation.

The population of the Yukon itself is growing; a population growth of 11.6% between the 2006 and 2011 census years was the highest in Canada.

Labour Force

The main employers in Pelly Crossing are with government: federal, territorial, and First Nation.  The private sector provides employment in in the construction, mining, service industry, and tourism fields. 

With increased mining activity in the Minto Region, employment opportunities are also increasing in the mining industry.
